Sashimi - Bachi Maguro

If you traveling to Japan do not forget to eat sashimi. Maybe some people do not know what it sashimi. According to Wikipedia, Sashimi (刺身) is a Japanese delicacy primarily consisting of very fresh raw seafood, sliced into thin pieces about 2.5cm (1") wide by 4cm (1.5") long by 0.5cm (0.2") thick, but dimensions vary depending on the type of item and chef.

So many kinds of sashimi, I most often eat Maguro sashimi. The main ingredient is tuna fish and simple sauces are served with it, such as shoyu soy sauce and wasabi which is mixed together but you can also add other condiments such as grated fresh ginger, or ponzu, depending on the fish and simple garnishes such as shiso and shredded daikon radish.

There are various types of Maguro sashimi which is sold in the department store. Bachi maguro, Kihada maguro, Katsuo maguro. In english bachi maguro is bigeye tuna, kihada maguro is yellowfin tuna and katsuo maguro is skipjack tuna. From these three types, I think the most delicious is bachi Maguro. The meat feels soft and tasty but the price is a bit expensive.

Hmmmm ... good idea.
Sashimi would be good for this evening's fast breaking, not too heavy yet not too light for the stomach.

Sashimi is delicious Japaneses dish consists of very fresh raw seafood, sliced into thin pieces and served with only a dipping sauce..Sashimi is usually beautifully arranged and served on top of shredded daikon and shiso leaves.
